Shea+Latone, Inc. is the creation of founding partners Tom Latone and Bill Shea, who collaborated together in the 1980’s while working in the product development division of renowned office furniture company, Knoll International. Since then, the team at Shea+Latone has been providing clients an extensive range of product development, product testing, and production fixture and gauge consulting services for over 20 years in the Philadephia and surrounding areas. The firm has grown to include a team of experienced industrial designers, engineers, and prototypers all experts in getting successful product ideas to market.

Located in a small suburban town, East Greenville, PA, design insiders know that Shea+Latone is in the heart of the original international modern design scene. Being home to Knoll International, East Greenville has cultivated prominent design figures such as Earo Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Richard Schultz, Niels Diffrient and many more. Shea+Latone has a long history of working with many of these great designers and the companies they have been associated with including Knoll, Emeco, Vitra, Humanscale®, and Herman Miller. We pride ourselves in being part of this rich design heritage that formed around a small suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania community while serving a global client base ranging from entrepreneurs to large international corporations.

Our studio, located in an old knitting factory, provides us with over 20,000 square feet for our creative processes. We are a short drive outside of Philadelphia and less than two hours from New York City.  Our building houses our office area— equipped with a 3D printer, large format plotter, and multiple CAD workstations running FEA software, CAD modeling software, as well as other important tools for the product design & development process. Our prototype shop is outfitted with woodworking, metalworking, finishing, milling and turning equipment, as well as a CNC router and FDM 3D printer for rapid prototyping. We also have a full testing facility with equipment for testing concepts to confirm they will endure in the marketplace including impact testing and BIFMA furniture regulatory tests. All of this gives Shea+Latone the ability to carry out many aspects of the product design and development process directly in-house, allowing us to more quickly meet the needs of our clients.
