We are proud to see that DesignIntelligence ranks Philadelphia University among the top in the nation for several facets of its industrial design program. Shea+Latone and Philadelphia University have a close connection through ex-Knoll furniture employees and  ID program Director, Gotz Unger. Gotz has been instrumental in helped get several Philadelphia University alumni positions at our firm. Shea+Latone currently employs four alumni including two partners, Shaun Smith and Jeff Theesfeld.

DesignIntelligence ranks design and architecture programs throughout the nation and compiles a yearly list of their findings. This is the primary ranking program for the design education industry. Philadelphia University received high ranking from both employers currently with alumni on their staff as well as in pier reviews from other industrial design deans. You can read the Philadelphia University press release on their blog and see the list of rankings in the list below.

Shea+Latone has had great success with PhilaU ID alumni and feel they are well prepared to handle a variety of design development tasks. Alumni’s understanding of teamwork and design communication is key to success in the design development industry. Compared to other long established programs, PhilaU ID is relatively new and we are proud of its success.
